Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting (ABRC) received the 2019 Wellness by Design Award for excellence in worksite wellness on November 7th. The award recognizes organizations that make employee health a priority through creative and effective wellness initiatives. Hennepin County Public Health hosted the award ceremony at the Maple Grove Community Center.
"In addition to receiving this award ourselves, ABRC's Health Management Solutions team helps our clients pursue the Wellness by Design award in an effort to recognize the work being done internally at the client’s worksite," said Julie Coe, a Health Management Consultant at ABRC. "Achieving this level of success for our own employees shows our sincere commitment to their health and well-being. It’s also exciting to see that some of our clients are recipients of this award."
Wellness by Design Awards are presented to Hennepin County employers that demonstrate accomplishments in management support, wellness infrastructure, communication, and programming directed at improving employee health. Seventy-six organizations in Hennepin County received the Award for excellence in worksite wellness this year. ABRC's Total Well-being Program has helped bring a variety of events and activities onsite such as Employee Assistant Program speakers, ongoing yoga sessions, and healthy fruit day.
These programs can improve employee performance, increase engagement, lower healthcare costs, and build community. Effective programs create a culture of health that affect all employees. As an employee myself and a wellness professional, I have personally seen the positive impact on businesses when employees are engaged in their health and well-being," Coe said. "Investing in employee health and showing your employees that you truly care about their well-being, beyond the bottom line, can provide employers with greater productivity and a positive return on their wellness investment."
